Frequently Asked Questions

What is CBD?

Cannabidiol (CBD) is the second major cannabinoid found in cannabis plants like hemp and marijuana. Unlike the other major cannabinoid THC, CBD is non-psychoactive. Clinical trials and studies have just started to scratch the surface of the vast variety of medicinal and therapeutic benefits CBD can provide, while anecdotal evidence suggests CBD is an effective treatment for chronic pain, inflammation, anxiety, poor sleep, and epilepsy.

What is CBD Oil?

CBD oil is the term used to describe a tincture of CBD. A CBD oil or tincture is made by mixing a CBD extract from a cannabis plant into a base such as MCT oil or alcohol.

How do I take CBD oil?

CBD oil is meant to be held under the tongue and absorbed directly into the bloodstream sublingually. A sublingual absorption provides a faster effect than absorption via the stomach (i.e. taking a CBD capsule or edible product, such as gummies). Try to keep a CBD tincture dose under your tongue for 30 – 60 seconds.

Why use CBD? What are the benefits?

CBD has shown to have the following effects: alertness, relaxation, reduction of pain and inflammatory, reduction of anxiety or depression, anti-nausea, antioxidant, anticonvulsant, anti-tumor, anti-seizure, and neuroprotector. CBD has also been found to be useful for treating conditions which have not responded well to conventional treatments.

Can you overdose on CBD?

CBD has been shown to be safe to use in high doses and will not cause a fatal overdose in any quantity. Taking too much CBD can result in unwanted side effects, such as lethargy or drowsiness.

Can I give CBD to my pet (dog, cat, etc.)?

Yes. Pets can benefit from CBD for many of the same conditions as humans: pain, seizures, inflammation, and anxiety. CBD is safe to use for pets but their dosage will likely be much smaller than yours. Dogs have a higher concentration of cannabinoid receptors in their brains; this means they are very sensitive to THC. We recommend you speak with a veterinarian before you start giving your pet CBD. We offer a200mg pets oil, an animal dosing chart is provided on that page.
