Why CBD Oil?
CBD Oil is a convenient way to consume CBD sublingually (under the tongue), for a direct, fast acting effect. When consumed sublingually, CBD absorbs through the membranes in the mouth and directly into the bloodstream, as opposed to passing through the digestive system first when ingested in edible form (such as capsules or gummies).
What's The Diff?
Why Full Spectrum CBD Oil?
CBD oil comes in three forms: full spectrum, broad spectrum, and isolate. Full spectrum CBD oil is the most preferred form of CBD oil as it contains all 100+ helpful cannabinoids found in the hemp plant.
The body is able to benefit from the entire plant, known as the Entourage Effect. When derived from hemp, full spectrum CBD will contain less than 0.3% THC content - not enough to impair or get the user high. Broad spectrum CBD oil is CBD oil that contains all cannabinoids except THC.
This is beneficial for those who do not want to consume any THC whatsoever. CBD isolate contains only CBD with no additional cannabinoids. In both broad spectrum CBD and CBD isolate, the body will not benefit from the Entourage Effect due to the absence of certain cannabinoids. Check out our blog post here for more information.
Decisions, Decisions
Natural vs. Peppermint
resolveCBD offers two flavours of CBD: Classic peppermint and Natural flavour-free oil. If you enjoy adding CBD oil to your food or drinks, Natural is a better choice to maintain the integrity of the flavours of your food and drinks. If you are sensitive to taste, you may enjoy Classic peppermint, which helps mask the earthy taste of CBD.

Cannabidiol (CBD) is the second major cannabinoid found in cannabis plants like hemp and marijuana. Unlike the other major cannabinoid THC, CBD is non-psychoactive. Clinical trials and studies have just started to scratch the surface of the vast variety of medicinal and therapeutic benefits CBD can provide, while anecdotal evidence suggests CBD is an effective treatment for chronic pain, inflammation, anxiety, poor sleep, and epilepsy.
CBD oil is the term used to describe a sublingual tincture of CBD. A CBD oil or tincture is made by mixing a CBD extract from a cannabis plant into a base such as MCT oil or alcohol. CBD oil is meant to be held under the tongue and absorbed directly into the bloodstream sublingually. A sublingual absorption provides a faster effect than absorption via the stomach (i.e. taking a CBD capsule or edible product, such as gummies). Try to keep a CBD tincture dose under your tongue for 30 – 60 seconds.
CBD has shown to have the following effects: alertness, relaxation, reduction of pain and inflammatory, reduction of anxiety or depression, anti-nausea, antioxidant, anticonvulsant, anti-tumor, anti-seizure, and neuroprotector. CBD has also been found to be useful for treating conditions which have not responded well to conventional treatments.
Full spectrum CBD contains all compounds found naturally occurring in the plant; these include essential vitamins, minerals, fatty acids, protein, chlorophyll, terpenes, flavonoids, and low levels of other cannabinoids. Consuming full spectrum CBD allows your body to benefit from the whole plant, which can improve absorption levels – this is commonly referred to as the Entourage Effect.
CBD is considered to be a non-psychoactive cannabinoid so it will not get you high in the way that marijuana (THC) gets you high. CBD can have an effect on your mental state as some users report a very subtle feeling of relaxation or mental clarity. While not sedative on its own, the relaxing effects of CBD may be sedative and therefore helpful in treating insomnia.
CBD has been shown to be safe to use in high doses and will not cause a fatal overdose in any quantity. Taking too much CBD can result in unwanted side effects, such as lethargy or drowsiness.
